Tom Hardy’s Press Tour Should Be Captioned ‘Bye Felicia’

If you haven’t heard any Tom Hardy news in the last week and a half, you are living under a rock. The “Mad Max: Fury Road,” star has been busy promoting his new film “Legend” over the last few weeks and we learn so much more about him at every appearance. For example, now we know not to ask him awkwardly phrased questions about his sexuality.

While at a press conference at the Toronto International Film Festival, a reporter asked about Hardy’s sexuality in a very roundabout way.

Reporter Graeme Coleman from LGBT site Daily Xtra started the exchange with, “In the film, your character Ronnie is very open about his sexuality, but given interviews you’ve done in the past, your own sexuality seems a bit more ambiguous. Do you find it hard for celebrities to talk to media about their sexuality?”

A noticeably confused Hardy replies, “What on earth are you on about?”

Coleman continued, “I was wondering if you find it difficult for celebrities to talk about their sexuality?”

Tom replied, “I don’t find it difficult for celebrities to talk about their sexuality… Um, are you asking me about my sexuality?”

Then a very awkward Coleman said, “Sure.”

All Hardy had to say at that point was, “Why?” He then said “thank you,” cutting off the reporter before he could say anything else.

The reporter was trying to ask about a 2008 interview where Hardy discussed his sexuality, saying, “I’ve played with everything and everyone. But I’m not into men sexually. I love the form and the physicality, but the gay sex bit does nothing for me.”

We’re not sure if Hardy was more annoyed that the reporter couldn’t ask him the question directly or if he didn’t like being asked about his sexuality, but his overall attitude towards the reporter was, “bye Felicia.”

The TIFF press conference was not the first memorable moment from Hardy since his press tour began. He has no shame in his game — last week he was asked about pictures he posted of himself sporting tighty-whities on his Myspace profile years ago.

Hardy told the U.K.’s Sky News that not only is he not embarrassed of the pictures — which have resurfaced numerous times despite his Myspace profile being deleted years ago — but also that he considers the images to be “glorious.”

“I’ve got no shame about my Myspace photos, especially the one of me in my underpants, which is a glorious photo of a man in his natural habitat,” Hardy said.

The Myspace photos featured everything from underwear to pornstaches and, yes, he even rocks a Speedo, and Hardy embraces all of it.

“I might not be an Adonis, but I like to think of myself as an Adonis in that photo,” said Hardy of the underwear pictures.

Prior to his statement about the MySpace photos, Hardy brought his dog along to a red carpet premiere. Between his dog, embarrassing selfies and shutting down a reporter –Tom Hardy gives zero fucks!
