Taylor Swift’s “1989” Debuts with Over 1 Million Sold in First Week

It’s a good time to be Taylor Swift. Her fifth studio album, 1989 sold 1.287 million records in its first week, according to Nielsen Soundscan. This gives Taylor Swift the largest sales week for an album since Eminem’s The Eminem Show in 2002. Swift is now also the only act to earn three million-selling weeks with an album. Red sold 1.208 million and Speak Now debuted with 1.047 records sold.

And, of course, she celebrated with some Kendrick Lamar:
