Billie Joe Rants At iHeart Radio Festival

Green Day performed last night at the iHeart Radio music festival in Las Vegas. But, their set was cut short due to other performances going over time, primarily Usher. Before their song “Basket Case” lead singer Billie Joe ranted, “Jesus Christ, we have four f***ing minutes left? What the fuck am I going to do with four f***ing minutes? You know, they’re bringing f***ing Usher back up here…” Clearly Billie was showing his annoyance with the festival’s disrespect towards the band who has “been around for f***ing 25 years, Las Vegas.” (This part of the rant begins at 3:20 in the video below).

After his first rant, the band continues into “Basket Case” which appropriately begins with the lyrics, “Do you have the time to listen to me whine…?” Billie cut the song short saying, “F*** this sh**. I’m gonna play a f***ing new song.” He continued with, “You’re going to give me one f***ing minute?” Then, he decides to put Justin Bieber on blast, “Let me tell you something. I’ve been around since f***ing 1980-f***ing-8. And you’re going to give me one f***ing minute left….What the f***? I’m not f***ing Justin Bieber, you mother f***ers.” Billie ended his rant by throwing his guitar around. Before walking off the stage he said, “God f***ing love you all. We’ll be back.”
