After 22 cycles, “America’s Next Top Model” will be coming to an end. The CW confirmed that the current cycle will be the modeling competition shows final, with a December 4th finale date. The network will likely air a retrospective special early in 2016.
The show’s host and executive producer, Tyra Banks, took to twitter to break the news. She wrote, “Thinking #ANTM22 should be our last cycle. I truly believe it’s time. May your pics be forever fierce. Keep on Smizing!” She later posted a longer statement on Instagram, stating, “I am SO proud of what Top Model has done.”
“America’s Next Top Model” premiered on UPN in May 2003. It later went to the CW in September 2006 after a merger between UPN and The WB. The original judges were Banks, Janice Dickinson, Beau Quillian, and Kimora Lee Simmons. Currently, the judges include Banks, Kelly Cutrone, and J. Alexander.
