The 2015 American Music Awards on Nov. 22 brought out some of music’s hottest stars to the Microsoft Theater in LA — and with them came a fair share of sexy silhouettes, plunging necklines and high hemlines for viewers to enjoy. The red carpet was dominated by some seriously hot looks. We saw show-stopping embellishments, bold cutouts and all around great style from our favorite A-listers, but while stars like Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez nailed it, others should’ve gone back to the drawing board with their outfits.

Ellie Goulding’s black frock showed off her incredible physique, but the one shoulder style and extreme cutouts looked tacky and outdated, especially as an AMA look.  As is true for most awards shows, some stars put their best foot forward on Sunday, while others put their foot in mouth.

Frances’ and Rosemary’s Pick: Gigi Hadid. There are few times where we both agree on our absolute favorite look of the night, but Hadid managed to put us on the same page. For how much skin she was showing, Hadid was able to balance classy and sexy. She made a splash in a stunning white Bao Tranchi two-piece number. The high slit skirt and cutout crop top showed off serious cleavage, her whittled waistline and her miles-long legs. On some it might’ve been too much but her new sleek slicked-back bob and natural make up brought up the sophistication factor and made it a well-rounded and event appropriate look.

Split decisions: As sisters, we tend to agree on the best and worst red carpet looks, but the AMAs had us all confuzzled.

For example, we agreed that three fourths of One Direction looked absolutely handsome and elegant as the band stepped onto the red carpet, but the remaining one fourth was questionable and we simply could not agree on the overall ensemble. The one fourth in question is Harry Styles.

Frances: While I like that Styles took a risk with his outfit and didn’t wear a typical suit, the mixture of floral print, bell bottom pants and messy long hair was too much. The Gucci suit was intended to have a vintage feel, but to me it felt more like an aging hippie’s poor attempt at looking sophisticated. Also, there’s the fact that several Ikea comforters and couches often use a very similar print.

Rosemary: I think Styles can pull off a potato sack and look good. He took a risk which made him stand out. Who says floral is just for women and hippies? I do agree that the outfit would have looked better with a straight leg pant, but it’s still refreshing to see a man do something different on the red carpet.

Another one we disagreed on was Demi Lovato…

Frances: I don’t love everything about Demi Lovato’s red carpet look, I do not think she deserved to be on the worst dressed list. The singer rocked an Old Hollywood-style black and gold lace Lorena Sarbu gown that was accentuated with bold flapper-esque hair and sultry vamp makeup.  Demi definitely took a risk with this glitzy look and I do think the pattern aged her a little bit. It would have worked better with different colors or a more plunging neckline, but overall the dress fit her curves perfectly and she pulled off the roaring 20s makeup with elegance. It’s a mixed bag for me, but I don’t think she looked bad.

Rosemary: I, on the other hand, was not a fan of the mix at all. The combo of the hair, make up, and dress came off cheesy. The dark lips, short hair, and dark patterned dressed aged the 23-year-old. Yes, Demi’s body looked amazing, but the look came off more 1920’s flapper costume rather than just flapper inspired.

We have to admit, compiling a best moments for awards show can sometimes be tedious, but the 43rd annual American Music Awards made the task a breeze. In a span of three hours we were shocked, we saw people cry, we heard great songs and we partied to some amazing dance numbers.

The show offered a lot of memorable moments —from sultry dance numbers that left you twerking in front of your television to a WTF make-out session that had many of us confused.

Plus, Jennifer Lopez was on point as this year’s host with all of her wardrobe changes and epic show opening. Seriously, a lot happened last night, so in case you missed the live telecast here are the best and worst moments that made the evening, from Nick Jonas throwing a solo coming-out party to Miss Piggy throwing a teapot.

The nominations for the 2016 People’s Choice Awards were announced Tuesday, November 3rd. The 65 categories range from film and television to music, social media and activism.

First time nominee The Weeknd leads with five nominations, including “Favorite Male Artist” and “Favorite Album” for Beauty Behind the Madness. No surprise there with the success The Weeknd has had this year. Beauty Behind the Madness debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 at the end of August 2015. Taylor Swift follows just slightly behind with four nominations.

Shonda Rhimes’ also had an impressive slate with all three of her shows- Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder– getting nominations. Grey’s Anatomy even takes the title for the most nominated show with six noms including “Favorite TV Show.”

In the movie categories, Avengers: Age of Ultron dominates with seven nominations. The film is nominated for “Favorite Movie” along with Furious 7, Inside Out, Jurassic World, and Pitch Perfect 2.

Fans can cast their votes until December 3. The 2016 People’s Choice Awards will air live on January 6, 2016 on CBS with host Jane Lynch.

Netflix has provided a straight-to-series order for a 13 episode mini series based on the novel, “13 Reasons Why.” Playwright Brian Yorkey will write the pilot. Selena Gomez, along with Kristel Laiblin and Gomez’s mother Mandy Teefey, will executive produce. Gomez will not star in the series, Variety reports.

Selena Gomez took to Instagram to share her excitement, writing “I’ll just be freaking out over here.”

“13 Reasons Why” is based on the 2007 novel of the same name by Jay Asher. After Hannah Baker commits suicide, she leaves her classmate Clay a box of tapes. The tapes, which have instructions to be passed along to other classmates, reveal how twelve of her peers played a role in her death and the thirteen reasons she took her life.

No premiere date for “13 Reasons Why” has been announced.

Selena Gomez has finally opened up about the real reason she was forced to take a break from the limelight.

In a recent interview with “Billboard” magazine Gomez discussed her struggles with lupus for the first time. While reports that Gomez was battling the autoimmune disease first broke nearly two years ago, the singer never addressed the claims and her reps wouldn’t confirm or deny any health problems.

Now, after years of speculation –and several reports that she may be dealing with drug and alcohol abuse– the 23-year-old has decided to set the record straight.

“I was diagnosed with lupus, and I’ve been through chemotherapy. That’s what my break was really about. I could’ve had a stroke,” Gomez said in the interview, referring to a period in late 2013 and early 2014 when the singer suddenly canceled the Asian and Australian leg of her Stars Dance tour.

The cancellation prompted rumors that she was dealing with addiction and soon after reports started coming in saying Gomez had entered rehab. Her rep at the time confirmed that the singer sought treatment at Dawn at The Meadows recovery facility in Wickenburg, Ariz., for “emotional issues” and “partying,” but specified she wasn’t seeking treatment for substance abuse.

So while Gomez did stay in rehab for two weeks in February 2014, at some point she apparently also underwent chemotherapy to treat her lupus.

“I wanted so badly to say, ‘You guys have no idea. I’m in chemotherapy. You’re assholes.’ I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again,” she told Billboard.

The Lupus Foundation of America describes lupus as “a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body). Chronic means that the signs and symptoms tend to last longer than six weeks and often for many years.”

There is no cure for lupus though patients often go through periods of remission followed by flare ups. According to the Cleveland Clinic, chemotherapy usually isn’t the first course of treatment unless diagnosis is severe. Strokes are also one of the more rare symptoms of lupus so for Gomez to have been told she was at risk is pretty serious. Without proper treatment lupus can be life threatening.

While the singer didn’t elaborate on the current status of her health, she did open up to Us Weekly about her mental health.

“This was the first year I ever dealt with anyone talking about my body,” Gomez told the magazine. “I’d land at the airport and people would yell out, ‘You’re fat!’ It was awful. I’ve been working in therapy. Even if I did gain weight, I’m fine.”

Gomez also touched on her body image issues again in the Billboard interview.

“I was in a bikini and got publicly ripped for being overweight,” Gomez said. “I believed some of the words they were saying. When somebody else has your self-esteem in their hands …”

Gomez says she put some of that negativity to good use, revealing that the comments from body-shamers inspired her to pose nude on the cover of new album “Revival.” She further explained that she’s been channeling her frustrations and anger into the music, and credits her critics as one of the driving forces for the album.

“I’m so f–king nice to everybody, and everyone is so vile to me. I’ve been working since I was 7. I’ve been a UNICEF ambassador since I was 17. It’s so disappointing that I’ve become a tabloid story,” Gomez said. “The hate motivated me.”

The full “Billboard” cover story will be released Oct. 8.

Summer is officially over, which means movie theaters will be full of star studded movies waiting for their Oscar nominations. “The Big Short” is one film that’s received a lot of buzz and many think it’ll be Paramount’s way into the awards.

The Adam McKay (Step Brothers, Anchorman) directed film, starring Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, and Brad Pitt, is based on Michael Lewis’ book, “The Big Short: Inside The Doomsday Machine.”

“The Big Short” centers around the four men who predicted the economic collapse in the 2000s- Hedge fund manager Steve Eisman (Carell), Greg Lippmann (Gosling) the Deutsche Bank trader, Scion Capital founder Michael Burry (Bale) and one of the founders of Cornwall Capital, Ben Hockett (Pitt). After their realization of the upcoming crisis, the men make some bold investments and “bet against the banks.” Marisa Tomei, Melissa Leo, and Max Greenfield also star.

Originally the film was set to release in 2016, but after seeing an almost final cut from McKay, Paramount decided to push the date forward to be apart of the award season mix. “The Big Short” will premiere on November 12 as AFI Festival’s closing night gala before it opens in limited theaters on December 11 and wide on December 23.

Selena Gomez has joined the cast of Universal’s “Neighbors 2.” Selena joins Zac Efron, Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, and Dave Franco for the sequel to 2014’s “Neighbors.” Chloe Moretz is also attached to play a new character. Although the plot for the sequel hasn’t been released, IMDB lists the film’s full title as “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising.” Will we be seeing Selena as a sorority girl? Or perhaps more of “Spring Breaker” type? See what we did there?

Selena Gomez has been keeping herself busy. She will be releasing an album on October 9th, titled “Revival,” and has several upcoming films. Selena recently wrapped “The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving,” withe Paul Rudd,  “The Big Short,” which stars Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, and Ryan Gosling (just to name a few) and “In Dubious Battle,” directed and starring by James Franco.

The original “Neighbors” brought in $269 million worldwide. Hoping to make that magic again for the sequel is director Nicholas Stoller. Stoller also wrote the film with Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Andrew Jay Cohen and Brendan O’Brien.

As the show approaches, the country’s pop-culture-loving teens are in anxious wait and left with a fervent need to vote for their favorite celebs everyday. To ease some of that anxiety we thought we’d compile some of the most memorable moments from recent Teen Choice Awards. Fear not guys, all your favorites did some awesome things in years past.

I am THISCLOSE to giving up on this show, but just like a bad train wreck, I can’t look away. In a surprising double elimination, Sweet Suspense and Rachel Potter were sent packing.

Right at the top of the show, the first elimination was announced. Sweet Suspense was sent home, and everyone’s look of shock was not unwarranted. Simon put it best, in the worst pep talk ever, “There were acts far worse.” How Carlito or Tim were not the first to be let go confuses me beyond belief.

But then last season’s Fifth Harmony performed, and showed all the contestants what they could become. If only Fifth Harmony had a better first single… The girls had some pitchy moments, and the song was annoying, leading to a performance which made them look like contestants still. Selena Gomez also performed in the middle of the show, showing the X Factor hopefuls that sometimes lip synching is the best option if you want to dance.

But it’s not about them, so moving on… The contestants were called to safety in the following order: Carlito Olivero (WHAT)
Josh Levi, Rion Paige, Jeff Gutt, Restless Road, Tim Olstad (DOUBLE WHAT), Ellona Santiago, Lillie McCloud, and finally, Alex & Sierra (Don’t scare me like that, Mario!). The contestants were NOT called in the order of their votes like Mario had promised last week. But this left two contestants to sing for their lives: Kaya Cohen and Rachel Potter.

With both girls not deserving to be in the bottom two, Kelly Rowland pleaded with America to “Get it together.” Demi believed that the only reason they were the bottom was because America didn’t vote, thinking these girls would be safe. That could be true, or people just don’t care enough to vote anymore. While I spend hours of my week watching the show and recapping, I admit I have never voted. Oops.

Kaya sang a beautiful rendition of Solomon Burke’s “Don’t Give Up on Me.” Her performance completely blew Rachel’s “From This Moment” (Shania Twain) out of the water. Rachel started off shaky, probably knowing her fate.

Alas, Rachel was sent home, with the judges all voting her off, except her mentor Kelly.
