Matt Damon and John Krasinski’s “Promised Land” Trailer Released

The trailer for Focus Features’ new film “Promised Land” came out a few days ago. The film, which stars Matt Damon and John Krasinski, was written by the duo. The film is directed by Gus Van Sant (who also did Good Will Hunting), and is set for release in January 2013.

The story follows Steve Butler (Damon) and his sales partner’s (Frances McDormand) endeavor into a small town to try and get the community to accept what their company has to offer–money, in exchange for drilling rights. But the easy plan proves hard when two locals, Frank Yates (Hal Holbrook) and Dustin Noble (John Krasinski), begin to object.
