Irish singer Roisin O isn’t releasing her music video for “Hold On” until tomorrow, Sept. 19th, but we got our hands on a first look of the video (below). Directed by Simon Eustace, the video tells the story of not being able to help someone in need.
“Hold On,” is off her debut album, “The Secret Life of Blue,” which was released September 2012, Roisin O says the hauntingly beautiful song was written for a friend who “was going through a tough time, as happens us all, and I found myself wanting, but unable, to help make things better for him. Sometimes all you can do for someone is to be there for them and let them know that things will get better one day. This song is for him.”
Roisin, described as a “voice that is near pitchperfect, at times evoking the likes of Joni Mitchell, Joanna Newsom and Kate Bush,” by The Sunday Times, recently finished a 14 date headlining tour in the US. You can check out her blogs about her adventures in the US on her official website.
