She’s probably rolling her eyes at all the headlines since she wants to “do this on her own.” Last night, Sophie Tweed-Simmon’s package before her audition showed her talking about how she doesn’t want to be known as Gene Simmon’s daughter and didn’t want his help in becoming a musician. So why mention him at all? Why bring him to the auditions? Not that we believe she necessarily wanted the extra attention, but she didn’t REALLY seem to mind it.
Well, until Demi Lovato called her out. As Sophie stepped on stage to audition Demi screamed, “THAT’S where I know you! You’re Nick’s sister,” and went on to tell the audience and the rest of the judges that she is Gene Simmon’s daughter. Sohpie sang Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love.” While her voice is by no means bad, there were some really awkward parts in the audition. Maybe she was just nervous, but she almost sounded bored.
While the judges weren’t exactly jumping up and down about her, she got through to boot camp with the judges’ (minus LA Reid) “Yes.” Simon left her with some advice to get “a lot of practice.” Check out her audition below:
