Good news everybody, we’re one step closer to the release (slated for May 5, 2017) of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” The anticipated sequel to the 2014 Marvel film has officially begun principal photography at Pinewood Studies in Atlanta, Georgia.

The original cast, which includes Chris Pratt (Jurassic World), Zoe Saldana (Star Trek Into Darkness), Dave Bautista (Spectre), Vin Diesel (Furious 7), Bradley Cooper (American Sniper), Michael Rooker (Jumper), Karen Gillan (The Big Short), and Sean Gunn (Gilmore Girls), are all set to reprise their roles. This comes as no surprise after the first “Guardians” made over $770 million at the worldwide box office, which makes it the most successful debut film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Some newcomers will also be joining, including Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby), Chris Sullivan (The Drop) and Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight), although no details about their characters have been revealed. It has been revealed though that Pom Klementieff (Oldboy) will be joining as Mantis, a former member of the Avengers.

With the news, Marvel also released the above image, which seems to show Rocket (voiced by Cooper), Drax (Bautista), Star-Lord (Pratt), and Gamora (Saldana) standing from left to right. It’s probably a safe bet to assume that Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) is standing on Drax’s shoulder. Written and directed by James Gunn, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2″ will follow Peter Quill (Pratt) and his team as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.

Sources have confirmed to TV Line that Netflix will be home to a limited series revival of “Gilmore Girls.” Netflix has reportedly closed a deal with Warner Bros. for four 90 minute movies, which will be written by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino.

“Gilmore Girls” first aired on The WB in October 2000. The show followed Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel), the beloved, fast talking, pop culture loving mother daughter duo, as the two navigated their lives in small town fictional Stars Hollow, Connecticut. Melissa McCarthy played Sookie, Lorelai’s best friend and business partner. Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Edward Herrmann, Jared Padalecki, Sean Gunn, Milo Ventimiglia, Matt Czuchry and Chad Michael Murray are among the many actors that also appeared on the show. Although no contracts are confirmed, Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson are expected back for the revival.

Although the show aired for 7 seasons (airing its finale in October 2007), both Amy and Daniel Palladino left the show in 2006. Speaking at a panel at the ATX Television Fesitval this past June, Amy said of the departure, “The last season was the last season, shit happens.” Amy has been vocal about always knowing how she wanted to end the show. Right after news broke of her departure, she told TV Guide she even had the last four words of the show planned. Perhaps now we’ll all finally know what those words are.

Netflix has not confirmed the news yet, but Lauren Graham unofficially (officially) did.
