The nominations for the 2016 Grammy Awards were announced Monday, and to nobody’s surprise, Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd led the pack with the most nods. Lamar pulled in the most nominations, 11, while Swift and The Weeknd received seven nods each.

Ed Sheeran took to Twitter to share his excitement about his nominations. Even though he says he wasn’t expecting any nominations, no one’s jaw dropped over his hit “Thinking Out Loud” receiving three nominations. The song, which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 (and remained there for eight weeks straight),  earned nominations for Record of The Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance. Sheeran also received a nomination as a songwriter for The Weeknd’s “Beauty Behind the Madness” for Album of the Year.

  Another Brit to earn three nods is James Bay. The rocker will be going up against his tour mate from earlier this year, Elle King, for Best Rock Song. After his breakout year, Bay is also up for the coveted Best New Artist and Best Rock Album for his debut album, “Chaos and the Calm.”

While many of the artists that make up the nominees for the big categories are obvious Top 40 contenders, the Grammy Awards still left room for some misses. Although Drake wasn’t shut out completely (earning nods for his songs “Energy” and “Back to Back” as well as his album “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late”), his song “Hotline Bling,” one of the most ubiquitous songs of the moment, was left out, despite being released before the cut off date. Last year, the Grammy’s asked Rihanna, Kanye West, and Paul McCartney to perform their collaboration “FourFiveSeconds,” but perhaps forgot about the track, seeing as it received no love from the committee.

The award show honors music released October 1 through September 30, which is why 1989 may feel a little dated and why Adele is noticeably absent. This at least will give Bieliebers and Directioners another year to hope for nominations.

Earlier this week, Justin Bieber hinted to fans in Facebook post about an appearance in Ben Stiller‘s “Zoolander 2.” “Working on something big right now in Europe. To learn more follow me on Fahlo. He is so hot right now,” he posted on his page. The sequel to the 2001 film has begun filming in Rome, Italy. Earlier today, Ben Stiller seemingly confirmed the news by posting a photo on Instagram of what appears to be blue-steel off with Bieber.

Bieber is just the latest cast addition among a long list of celebrities. Along with Stiller, Owen Wilson, Christine Taylor and Will Ferrell are confirmed to reprise their roles. Penelope Cruz, Fred Armisen, Billy Zane and Olivia Munn have signed on, as have Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, according to IMDB. No details on any of these roles has been released. Unfortunately, we’ll all have to wait until February 12, 2016 to watch the film in theaters.

We’ve defended Justin Bieber’s antics as just boy immaturity, but with this latest controversy, we can no longer defend him. Justin Bieber was arrested this morning for drag racing and  DUI. The Miami police posted on Twitter early this morning, “#BreakingNews confirming @justinbieber has been arrested for DUI & Drag Racing more info & press release coming.”

The Miami Herald reports that Bieber was charged for DUI and resisting arrest. Reports claimed Bieber admitted to have had a few beers, marijuana, and prescription drugs. Although Bieber’s breath test blew under legal limit at .011 and .014, he failed the roadside sobriety test. Also, is everyone aware that regardless, Justin Bieber is under legal drinking age?

Arrested with Bieber was his racing partner, and R&B artist, Khalil Sharief. Bieber was driving a 2013 Lamborghini, and Sharief a red Ferrari. Members of Bieber’s entourage reportedly used their SUVs to block traffic from entering the streets where the race took place. This all on the heels of Paul Walker’s death caused by speeding accident.

One Direction can now add a new accomplishment to their list: make a top-earning movie. Their film, which opened Aug. 30 in the US, debuted at number one (not including Labor Day), earning nearly $16 million, although it’s interesting to note that similar concert movies, like Miley Cyrus’, Justin Bieber’s, and Michael Jackson’s all started with over $23 million.

“One Direction:This is Us,” which has been marketed to teenage girls who are already fans, tells the tale of how the group came together on X-Factor. After seeing the five guys through bootcamp, Simon Cowell didn’t feel Niall, Harry, Zayn, Liam, or Louis, were strong enough as solo artists, but he didn’t want to let them go. So, genius struck, and he put them in a group. The film shows all the audition tapes, most of which do nothing but make you wonder how any of them made it through the first round. Then, heartbreakingly, the band is cut on the UK’s X-Factor, but that clearly did not stop the band from going anywhere. Zayn predicted on stage as they were booted in third place, “This isn’t the last of One Direction.”

The concert footage is broken up with some behind the scenes footage, interviews, and lots of screaming fans. One Direction’s movie definitely pinpoints the success behind the band, the fans. The amount of hysteria and chaos that follows the boys is fascinating and somewhat disturbing . One scene in particular stands out; the boys are shopping, when fans begin to recognize them (although, cameras probably won’t disguise you as normal people). The few fans who spot them turn into a mob of teenage girls surrounding the store the boys were locked in. Security had to push them through the crowd to safety. Yikes.

The behind the scenes footage doesn’t show much depth or vulnerability about these guys. Much of the background is probably not news to the flocks of girls going to see the movie. But one thing is for sure, these boys are likable, especially Harry and Niall. The two provide the audience with most of the laughs through out the film, whether intentional or not. Niall while at dinner, mistakenly believes that miso soup is to be put over rice, which proves just how young and still naive these boys truly are. Harry, who is shirtless for most of the movie, causes chaos at a fitting where he refuses to stay still for a photo. This may sound like another current diva teen heartthrob (looking at you Justin Bieber), but the intent is to make the people around him laugh — and to amuse himself.

The film works for what it is: a marketing tool. Parents who take their kids to see the film probably laughed at One Direction’s young boy mischief. Silly lines, like Zayn who said, “But I’m in a cool boyband, so, whatevs,” when talking about the reputation of boy bands and crazy antics show the parents how utterly charming these guys are. So, why not spend a little extra on posters for their daughters? Or even just the curious bunch who caught a matinee showing to not spend the extra money, will leave saying things like, “Aw they’re so cute.” I even overheard a fan saying, “I like them more now,” as I left the screening. (Is that possible?) While the film isn’t a social documentary like Spurlock fans are used to, the film does give one insight: whether or not you like One Direction, they are just five young boys who are working hard for their success. Niall says it best, they’re just just normal lads whose “job just happens to be abnormal.”

First, Justin had the “worst birthday” after he faced some issues with security at a club in London where he had planned to celebrate this birthday. He was then late to his show last Monday, causing some younger fans to leave early. Thursday (March 7) Justin collapsed backstage after suffering from shortness of breath throughout the show.

The next morning, Justin had a confrontation with a paparazzi where he threatened to “beat the f*ck” out of him.

And this is all following his very publicized break up with Selena Gomez and allegations of smoking weed. Not to mention, new reports every day of Selena not answering his texts, reports of him cheating on her in the past, and who knows what else. So what’s going on with him?

Nothing. He’s a 19 year old boy. I don’t know about you, but in high school I saw plenty of almost fights which can only be due to egos clashing. Isn’t that what happened with Justin and the paparazzo? How many guys at 19 smoked weed constantly? I still know guys like that. And as far as all the Selena Gomez drama goes, Justin is a human being. I’m sure he has enough to deal with, and adding all the gossip doesn’t help.

People seem to put celebrities on a pedestal that shouldn’t exist. I’m sure Justin Bieber is a bratty egotistical 19 year old sometimes, but, just read that sentence again. “19 year old”. How many 19-year olds work as hard as Justin does for their passion? Pretty sure most of them sit on their couch playing video games while attending community college and trying to still figure out what they want to do in life. Leave the poor kid alone and let him grow up and realize what an idiot he can be on his own.

Louis Tomlinson of One Direction tweeted in Justin’s defense, and I think what he said is pretty accurate.

This Wednesday begins the Judge’s House round on X Factor, which determines the contestants who will move on to the live shows. Each judge will be given a category (ages, groups, solo artists, etc), and will mentor those contestants for the remainder of the competition. Before mentoring, each judge and the guest mentor get to decide who moves on from the judge’s house onto the shows. Justin Beiber teamed up with LA Reid, Marc Anthony with Simon Cowell, Nick Jonas with Demi Lovato, and will.I.am with Britney Spears.

Green Day performed last night at the iHeart Radio music festival in Las Vegas. But, their set was cut short due to other performances going over time, primarily Usher. Before their song “Basket Case” lead singer Billie Joe ranted, “Jesus Christ, we have four f***ing minutes left? What the fuck am I going to do with four f***ing minutes? You know, they’re bringing f***ing Usher back up here…” Clearly Billie was showing his annoyance with the festival’s disrespect towards the band who has “been around for f***ing 25 years, Las Vegas.” (This part of the rant begins at 3:20 in the video below).

After his first rant, the band continues into “Basket Case” which appropriately begins with the lyrics, “Do you have the time to listen to me whine…?” Billie cut the song short saying, “F*** this sh**. I’m gonna play a f***ing new song.” He continued with, “You’re going to give me one f***ing minute?” Then, he decides to put Justin Bieber on blast, “Let me tell you something. I’ve been around since f***ing 1980-f***ing-8. And you’re going to give me one f***ing minute left….What the f***? I’m not f***ing Justin Bieber, you mother f***ers.” Billie ended his rant by throwing his guitar around. Before walking off the stage he said, “God f***ing love you all. We’ll be back.”
