The glow of the night started long before any awards were handed out with stars exuding radiance on the red carpet throughout the night.

Metallics were clearly a theme for the night’s leading ladies and they rocked it. Priyanka Chopra, Ruth Negga, and Gina Rodriguez were just a few of the ladies whose metallic looks had us obsessed at first sight. They were simply stunning, commanded attention, and flattered their amazing figures.

We caught up with Paul Norton, the genius behind Gina Rodriguez’s gorgeous mane, and he gave us the 411 on of how to recreate her enviable locks.

“I wanted to create a modern yet vintage look for Gina this evening. Cabaret was my inspiration,” said Norton.

How to get Gina Rodriguez’s hair look:

Step 1:

Prep the hair with Joico Power Whip to add volume and make a deep side part. Use a round to smooth out the hair.

Step2:

Using a 1 inch curling iron curl the hair away from the face making sure to leave the ends out for a modern look. Norton suggest using JoiShape Shaping & Finishing Spray before curling as it gives the a hair a nice hold while still letting it maintain its movement.

Step 3:

Once curls are cooled Norton used KPAK Protect and Shine Serum to finger through the hair to add shine to the hair.

Step 4:

To finish off the look Norton used Joico Power Spray for hold and Joico Gold Dust Shimmer Spray to match to sparkle of Gina’s gorgeous dress.

The 73rd annual Golden Globes was full of some surprising wins on Sunday (even more surprising than usual). Even with positive critic reviews for revenge drama “The Revenant,” not many expected it to nab the best drama award, and while “The Martian” has been a commercial success, a Best Comedy award was confusing to most.

The two films together won the most film awards than any other nominated film. Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu’s won best drama, best director and Leonardo DiCaprio took home best actor. “The Revenant” was followed close behind by Ridley Scott’s “The Martian,” which aside from being named best musical or comedy by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, also bestowed Matt Damon with the award for best actor in a musical or comedy for his work in the film.

Other winners in the film categories included Brie Larson (best actress in a drama for “Room”), Jennifer Lawrence (best actress in a musical or comedy for “Joy”), Sylvester Stallone (best supporting actor for “Creed”), Kate Winslet (best supporting actress for “Steve Jobs”), and Aaron Sorkin (best screenplay for “Steve Jobs”).

Going into the broadcast, Todd Haynes’ “Carol” and Adam McKay’s “The Big Short” outnumbered all the other nominees with five and four nominations each. Unfortunately, both films went home empty handed on Sunday night.

The critically acclaimed film “Spotlight” also lost its bids for best screenplay, best drama, and best director. With only 90 voting members in the HFPA, their choices aren’t always in sync with the rest of us, but the results of the night have many wondering how their picks will align with the Academy when the Oscar nominations are announced on Thursday.

On the television side, two newcomers–and relatively unknown shows– took home top honors: “Mr. Robot” was named best drama series, while “Mozart in the Jungle” took home best comedy. Other first-time winners included Rachel Bloom (best actress in a comedy for “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”) and Lady Gaga.

This year’s Golden Globes ceremony was hosted by Ricky Gervais. The acerbic comic made his fourth appearance as Globes host, and first since the 2012 broadcast, and his return was met with plenty of controversy. He opened the show with a monologue that referred to how Caitlin Jenner’s transition did no favors to female drivers, which sparked plenty of criticism on social media, later in the show he also mocked Mel Gibson and Bill Cosby.

We know America Ferrera wants it to be clear that she is NOT Gina Rodriguez, but we bet if she saw Rodriguez’s look at the Golden Globes last night she wouldn’t be as bothered by the mistake.

“Jane the Virgin” star, Rodriguez was one of the looks of the night we could not stop obsessing over. The star stunned in a gorgeous navy off the shoulder Zac Posen gown. Everything about the nominated actress’ look for the night was pure perfection from her glowing skin, sleek hair, and breathtaking dress.

We caught up with celebrity hairstylist Paul Norton, who got Rodriguez’s hair red carpet ready for the big night so he would give us all the details on how he achieved the look. Norton said, it was Gina’s gorgeous dress that inspired him to go for a classic yet retro feel with her hair.

Here’s how to get Gina’s hair look:

Step 1:
Start by prepping the hair with Joico Power Gel and Joico Heat Set and then blow dry with a GHD Ceramic Vented Radial Brush size 3 until it is completely dry. Leave each section of hair on the round brush for several seconds after removing the heat so that it will cool in that position and create a round feeling.

Step 2:
Use Joico Iron Clad to protect the strands from the heat and use a hair straightener (optimal temperature is 365 degrees) to ensure the style lasts longer without causing extra damage to hair. Using Iron Clad and the straightener smooth out the hair, focusing on the mid-shaft area so that the roots remain voluminous. Avoid the ends so they keep a gentle bend to them.

Step 3:
Spray Joico Hair Shake, which Norton likes to call his “back comb in a bottle,” at the roots of the hair. Once the Hair Shake is set back comb the root area around the crown as well as the majority of the back area of the head.

Step 4:
Use a straightener to smooth the front center area of the hair back away from the face. Follow up with Joico’s Crème Wax Texture and Shine to help control the back combed hair and confine it to the center area at the crown of the head. Allow the two areas on each side around the temple to hang freely for a more retro shape.

Step 5:
Use a curling iron to curl the three bottom inches of the hair away from your face. Once done curling use your fingers and rake through your hair to soften the curls and spraye ends with Joico Flip Turn Hair Spray.

Step 6:
Lastly, to finalize the look use Joico Flip Turn to eliminate any fly-aways. If all goes well you’ll be able to keep your hair camera ready like Gina’s for your big night.

The Hollywood Foreign Press announced the nominations for the 73th Annual Golden Globes on Thursday morning.

Todd Haynes’ period piece “Carol” (based on the book “The Price of Salt” by Patricia Highsmith), received the most film nominations, with a total of five. The film will go up against “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “The Revenant,” “Room,” and “Spotlight” for Best Motion Picture Drama. “Carol” also received a nod for Best Original Score and Best Director. Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, who star in the film, will go head to head in the Best Performance By an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama category.

But that won’t be the only interesting competition during the award show. Christian Bale and Steve Carell both earned acting nominations in a musical or comedy for their work in “The Big Short.” Although Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer didn’t star in a film together, the two new best friends will face off in the Best Performance By an Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy category for their work in “Joy” and “Trainwreck,” respectively. We can’t wait to hear some serious smack talk (Or most likely comedic adoration) between these ladies.

On the television front, it seems that streaming services are taking over. Netflix proved to be a force to be reckoned with at the Golden Globes back in 2013 with “House of Cards” and “Orange is the New Black.” This year, Netflix had more nominations than any network with 8, beating HBO by one nod. But Netflix isn’t the only streaming service that appears. In the category for Best Series, Music or Comedy, Netflix’s “OITNB” will go up against Hulu’s “Casual” and Amazon’s “Transparent” and “Mozart in the Jungle.” The only two nominees from a tradition network are both HBO’s, “Silicon Valley” and “Veep.” It looks as though the “Modern Family” sweep from years past is finally over.

The Golden Globes will be hosted by Ricky Gervais on January 10 on NBC. Check out the full list of nominations below.

Check out the gallery below to see if Melissa McCarthy, Tina Fey, Emily Blunt, Sienna Miller, and many others landed on our best or worst dressed list, as well as our absolute favorite looks.

Rosemary’s Pick: Jennifer Lopez. Can we all just talk about how Jennifer Lopez is 45 years old and ROCKED the Zuhair Murad gown at the Golden Globes better than anyone half her age ever will? Jennifer Lopez never disappoints on the red carpet, and last night was no exception. Jennifer always manages to mix sexy and classy with ease, and the sparkling number did just that with a plunging neckline and cape. She paired the dress with large diamond earrings, a champagne colored clutch that matched the dress, and some Jimmy Choo sandals.

Frances’ Pick: Felicity Jones. The plunging neckline was a hot commodity on this year’s Golden Globes red carpet, but Felicity Jones was not one to go with the crowd. Jones appeared on the red carpet in a custom Christian Dior couture gown with Van Cleef and Arpel vintage jewelry. It was refreshing to see something a little different. The dark turquoise gown looked stunning on her skin and the high neckline added a little bit of flair to a classic style. She reminded me of a regal queen or Audrey Hepburn… or Audrey Hepburn playing a regal queen.

Sunday’s Golden Globes brought lots of laughs, memorable photo bombs and — most importantly — amazing red carpet looks that left us excited to see what the rest of award season will have in store for us.

Robin Wright has been having quiet the year so far with her engagement to actor Ben Foster, and her Golden Globe win for Best Actress — if only we all could have some of her luck this year. Let’s not forget how gorgeous she is and Sunday’s Golden Globes was no exception where she was the epitome of sex appeal, class and a bit of edge.

We caught up with celebrity hairstylist, and the man responsible for Robin’s sleek locks of night, Paul Norton for the details behind her look. Norton credited her beautiful, sparkling, nude Reem Acra dress as his inspiration for the look then he shared how he achieved this effortlessly sleek look.

Here are the steps to recreate Robin Wright’s Pixie perfection:

1. Norton prepped her damp hair with Joico Smooth Cure Shampoo and Conditioner to tame those pesky fly-aways.

2. He then gave her a quick trim to freshen her undercut and applied Joico’s JoiWhip firm-hold design foam.

3. Norton then blew Robin’s hair dry with a small Mason Pearson brush. After applying Joico Texture Boost dry spray wax he selected sections throughout her hair lengths and began pinching and directing her hair forward. In Robin’s fringe area, he swept her hair to one side, allowing her cropped side to show giving it an edgy sexy feel.

“This gives the hair a nice edge, while keeping it super sexy and alluring with bangs that cascade over the brows,” said Norton.

4. Lastly for long-lasting, yet touchable hold and a great boost of shine, he finished with a mist of Joico JoiMist Firm finishing hair spray.

How to get Robin Wright’ s makeup look:

The secrets to Robin’s look did not stop there celebrity makeup artist, Tricia Sawyer, gave us the inside scoop on how she achieved Robin’s radiant look. Orlane products were Sawyer’s secret to achieving this look.

1. To prep the skin, Sawyer used Orlane’s Absolute Skin Recovery Anti-Fatigue Masque. Afterward, she applied Anti-Fatigue Absolute Radiance Cream all over the face. “I love this cream because it helps to retain moisture for long periods of time and Robin has a long night ahead of her so it’s perfect!” Sawyer said.

2. Using Orlane’s Absolute Skin Recovery Smoothing Foundation in Shade 20 with the Antonym Foundation Brush, Sawyer gave Wright that great coverage and concealed her uneven spots — you know the annoying ones we all have. To set the foundation, she dusted Orlane’s Poudre Libre all over the face.

3. To attract light for all the photos Wright would be taking throughout the night Sawyer made sure to highlight her face. She used a shine stick on Wright’s cheekbones, cupid’s bow, and the center of her nose. She then used a Dior coral blush on the apples of her cheeks and the Orlane Bronzer under her cheekbones and on her jawline for more dimension.

4. For Wright’s eyes, Sawyer applied Antonym’s Certified Natural Eyeliner in Noir along the inside of the eyes and on the outer rim. She smudged it out with a small eye shadow brush and then used a customized eye shadow palette for a nude look. After applying a strip of lashes, she applied Orlane’s Volume Care Mascara on the lashes. To give her lips a bit of color, Sawyer used Dior Addict’s Gloss in #343. She then used Orlane’s Refining Arm Cream to moisturize Robin’s arms and finished the look by applying Orlane Bronzer to give her an overall bronze-y look.
