We previously reported that the Olsen twins would not be reprising their shared “Full House” role in Netflix’s “Fuller House.” But it looks like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen could still have a change of heart!

Speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour on Tuesday morning, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos revealed, “The Olsen twins are teetering whether or not they’ll be around.” He later clarified that although they are “not in the current creative,” there is certainly, “a bunch of stunt opportunity for them in the future if they want to, if they choose to.” Translation: Although the twins don’t currently have a spot in the story, it would be quite easy to change that, and they might, maybe, quite possibly be considering it. Please don’t let this be a tease!

Meanwhile, the rest of the original cast filmed the first episode of the series last week. Starring Candace Cameron Bure (DJ), Andrea Barber (Kimmy), and Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie), “Fuller House” will also see John Stamos, Lori Loughlin, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, and Scott Weigner reprise their roles.

It’s official, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will not be joining the rest of the original Full House cast for the upcoming Netflix revival “Fuller House.”

The Olsen’s have decided not to reprise the role they shared as Michelle on the beloved ABC sitcom, and instead will continue to focus on their careers in fashion.

“Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family,” executive producer Robert L. Boyett said in a statement. “It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House.”

The Full House spin off will star original cast members Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), her on-screen younger sister, Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie) and Andrea Barber, who played her best friend, Kimmy Gibbler. John Stamos will produce the show and return as Uncle Jesse in a guest role. Dave Coulier will also come back as Uncle Joey. Bob Saget and Lori Loughlin are still in talks with creators to reprise their roles as well.

Though the majority of the original cast is set to return, the Olsen twins’ participation had been in question since the revival was officially announced on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in April. The Olsen said they had not been made aware of the reboot. However, Stamos called out their claim as “bullshit” in a tweet that was later deleted.

The entrepreneurs got their start on Full House when they were just nine months old. They quickly turned their popularity from the show into an empire of direct-to-video movies and specials under their company, Dualstar Entertainment. After Full House ended in 1995, they starred on two other short-lived TV series, Two of a Kind and So Little Time, but haven’t done much acting since.

You might be wondering what the Olsen’s have been doing in recent years since they don’t appear in films or television shows anymore. They have turned their attention to their fashion lines, The Row and Elizabeth & James. In addition, they have a clothing line at J.C. Penney called Olsenboye and a t-shirt line called StyleMint. While they do have a lot on their plate, but we were hoping for at least a cameo.

Premiering on Netflix in 2016, the series follows a grown up D.J. Tanner-Fuller employed as a vet, pregnant and recently widowed. With so much going on, her sister Stephanie, now an aspiring musician, and single mother Kimmy, all move in to help take care of D.J.’s two boys, the rebellious 12-year-old J.D. and neurotic 7-year-old Max, and her soon-to-arrive baby. It truly is a “Fuller House.”

The original series aired on ABC from 1987 to 1995. This new version seems like it could be a nostalgic cash grab. Not that it won’t work for children of the 90s –I know I am anticipating the premiere.

Dave Coulier confirmed earlier today he would reprise his role as Uncle Joey for Netflix’s Full House spinoff- Fuller House. Coulier posted a photo with Mark Cendrowski and captioned it, “Yes, I’ll be on the Fuller House reunion. And this guy, Mark Cendrowski will be directing. #cutitout”

Coulier played Danny Tanner’s (Bob Saget) comedian best friend, Joey Glastone, in the original Full House. After Danny’s wife died, Joey and Danny’s brother in law, Unless Jesse (John Stamos) move in to help raise his daughters, DJ (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), and Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashely Olsen). Saget and Lori Loughlin, who played Uncle Jesse’s wife Rebecca, are reportedly in negotiations to join the spinoff. Still no word if Mary-Kate and Ashley have plans to return.

Joining the original cast will be three children; DJ’s two sons JD and Max, as well as her best friend Kimmy Gibler’s (Andrea Barber) daughter, Ramona. TVLine describes JD as “ladie’s man”, a musician, and a bike rider, much like his Uncle Jesse. JD has a tough time with the loss of his father and lashes out. Meanwhile, Max is more like his Grandpa Danny and likes to keep everything tidy- appearance, room, etc. As a bit of a tech geek, he looks to his brother for approval. Kimmy’s daughter is bi racial, and fully embraces her Latina heritage. She considers living with the “white-bread Tanners” as lame. Though Ramona is smart, her interests are in boys, fashion, and social media rather than school.

No official release date has been announced for Fuller House, but it’s expected to make it’s debut in 2016.

Last night, John Stamos (Or Uncle Jesse as us 90s kids better know him as), went on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and confirmed the “Full House” spinoff, “Fuller House.” Producer and guest star Stamos told Kimmel that Netflix has picked up 13 episodes. The spinoff will center around pregnant DJ Tanner (Candace Cameron Bure), who is recently widowed. Her younger sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and childhood best friend Kimmy Gibler (Andrea Barber), along with her teenage daughter Ramona, move in to help DJ raise her two sons, JD and Max. Sound familiar?

“Full House” aired on ABC from 1987 to 1995, and starred Saget as Danny Tanner, father of DJ, Stephanie and Michelle, who was played by both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. After his wife’s death, his brother in law Jesse, and best friend Joey (Dave Coulier) move in to help raise his daughters.

Negotiations are still ongoing with the rest of the original cast: Bob Saget, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin. When Kimmel asked Stamos about Saget’s return, his response was a simple, “He better..” But, Loughlin told “Access Hollywood Live” she wasn’t sure on their returns, “They made deals with half the cast, but not the other half.” Revealing that neither she, Coulier or Saget have deals, she said, “I think we would all like to come back, if the powers that be are fair to all of us.” As for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, she said “I honestly don’t know if they want to do it. I’m sure they’re talking to them. I don’t know what’s going on there.”
