How About Some Boobs And Blood

If you have ever wondered where you can find a place that provides both nudity and gore, then look no further than the Boobs and Blood International Film Festival.

For the first time ever admirers of grindhouse cinema, lesbian vampire flicks and Japanese pink films had a place to celebrate all things weird and outrageous. Fans gathered at the New Beverly Cinema in Hollywood over the weekend to watch special screenings of their favorite B-movie.

While Boobs and Blood is similar to other genre film festivals like Fantastic Fest, this one caters to a very specific audience. In order to enjoy this festival you have to really like nudity—a lot. Pink films, for example, are a type of Japanese soft core that combine sex, violence, comedy, torture, revenge and nudity.

There were also plenty of classic screenings of old school B-movies such as “Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers” and “Vampyres.” In between each screening, fans were able to see the stars of every movie on the red carpet. Sometimes surprise guests showed up as well. Famous comic book artist Jim Mahfood was in attendance looking for inspiration for his next cartoon. Prior to each movie screening audiences were treated to live music by the Cinnamon Sextet and trailers for upcoming grindhouse movies. One particular trailer that got a lot of attention was “Nude Nuns with Big Guns.” The trailer premiered on the last night of the festival, which also happened to have the biggest audience.

Fans were even given the opportunity to party with the invited guests. After the second night festival president Miles Flanagan invited audience members to an after party at the Pink Eiga headquarters. Many people also won raffle prizes and got free drinks. All these perks were offered to people for less that $50 for the entire weekend. Movies like this are not usually my style, but the event was a great deal.

The weekend was filled with appearances by porn stars and playmates from the past and present. People like Marey Carey, Puma Swede, Anulka Dziubinska, and the suicide girls were in attendance.
